Welcome to this week's update.

This week, we've further extended the Document Request feature we introduced last week.

Now, for the update:

1. It is now possible to let Sterndesk send an email automatically when a document request is created.

2. It is also possible to (re)send this email manually after the document request is created.

3. We've added a clear indicator to the Time-in-rank feature when the precise time could not be calculated. This is often due to missing information on the resume.

Welcome to this week's update, it is a big one as we're introducing a brand new section to the dashboard.

Document Requests

We're introducing a completely new feature that we call Document Requests. It will allow consultants and recruiters to ask for more detailed documentation for a candidate in a more structured way.  

Each request comes with a dedicated link that the candidate can visit to upload their documents. Sterndesk will then automatically analyse the uploaded documents and present them in the dashboard.

Changes:

1. It is now possible to create Document Requests in Sterndesk

2. Crew can now upload documents to complete the Document Request

3. Recruiters can now inspect the uploaded documents for a Document Request

This week is pretty minimal in terms of new features as we're preparing for a big release next week.

1. In the organization settings it is now possible to precisely declare the various document types that the organization accepts.

2. After the update a few weeks back we've updated the homepage with another iteration.

3. Sterdesk has applied for a large RFP (request for proposal/tender) from the Marine Technology Society. We'll hear more about this in July.

Like last week we continued development of the "time-in-rank" feature.

Now, for the updates:

1. It is now possible to filter the "time-in-rank" table to only show experience on a specific vessel.

2. Similarly, the table can be filtered on a specific rank as well. This also works together to find the time-in-rank of a specific rank on a vessel.

For this weeks update:

1. Each crew profile now has an extremely handy table that quickly shows the time-in rank for each type of vessel. And the total across all vessels, this can be used for quickly verifying if a profile is suited for certain regulatory needs (such as those set by ARAMCO).

NOTE: it is still in beta, let us know if you see any improvements!

2. Small fixes have been made to the regular work experience table, giving the "show duplicates" table a better spot, and giving more room to the vessel type.

3. And, Sterndesk was at Breakbulk this week! We've managed to build some great connections. Hopefully more on that soon.

1. Finally, a must requested feature: It is now possible to change the creation date of a job post. It will bump the job posting higher or lower in the search results.

Here’s what we’ve been working on this week. Our main focus has been improving search functionality, but we’ve made other enhancements as well:

1. Dedicated Work Experience Tab

Work experience now has its own tab and includes a brief summary from the candidate’s resume, highlighting their key responsibilities.

2. Smarter Crew Search

Searching for terms like “bridge experience” now returns candidates with relevant experience, even if the exact phrase isn’t in their profile.

3. New Website Use Case Section

We’ve added a page outlining the different ways Sterndesk can be used, including how TOS People benefits from it: Use Cases.

4. Data Processing Agreement (DPA) Published

To be more transparent about how we handle personal data, our DPA is now publicly available: DPA.

• Crew filtering has been improved. You can now filter candidates by job posting and pipeline stage.

• Clicking on a stage of any pipeline will instantly show all candidates within that stage.
  

What’s next on our roadmap:

• Search functionality will soon be improved, allowing you to search for keywords across all resumes on Sterndesk. This will make it much faster to find the right candidates.
• A document checker will be introduced after that, enabling you to upload training matrices and quickly find candidates who meet the required qualifications. Crew Profiles:  

^‍We’ve added a clear visual indicator for expired certificates in crew profiles. This makes it immediately apparent when a profile requires attention, ensuring compliance and safety standards are maintained.

Enhanced Search with AI Features:

‍The search functionality on both the dashboard and jobs.tospeople.com now includes advanced AI capabilities. Using natural language processing, the system understands the intent behind your queries. For example, typing “no cooking” will return job posts that don’t require cooking skills.

Improved User Feedback During Searches:

‍We’ve introduced a progress indicator on to provide better feedback during searches. Users can now see a loading spinner or message while their search results are being generated.

Welcome to this week’s update for Sterndesk. This week is especially exciting as the crew section has become much more personal! Check out the exact changes below.

Crew profiles now display an avatar if one of the submitted documents includes a photo.

This helps create a more personal and engaging experience when viewing crew profiles.

Closed job postings now have a clear visual indicator to prevent crew from applying.

This reduces confusion and saves time by making it obvious which jobs are no longer available.

When a job posting is closed, the recruiter’s contact information is now removed to further prevent crew from reaching out directly.

This protects recruiters' time and ensures communication stays relevant.
